Whenever my attention is drawn towards an excessively loud car, pickup truck or motorcycles I can not help but think of a spoiled rotten brat of a child demanding to be the center of attention at any cost. It amuses me to watch and of course hear them as they sit idling at a traffic light revving the engine on a piece of machinery with mufflers they modified to be louder than any other vehicle on the road and they really do look like children behaving badly, children who have yet to learn good manners, respect for their fellow man’s quality of life, children who honestly believe that the world revolves around them. These noise makers ride down the road in a Mr. Magoo like fashion totally oblivious to anyone or anything around them, in that respect it is amusing. The scary part is that like the spoiled child there is not enough attention in three universes to satisfy their craving for it. Just because something may be legal is no reason a person should go out and do it just because they can. In areas where there are no laws governing a certain action it is left up to the individual to do the right thing by excersing good judgment, good manners along with respect and concern for their fellow mans quality of life. If the population of the world were to conduct themselves with absolutely no regard for each other civilization would cease to be because we would kill each other in about five minutes. It is good fortune that most of us realize this and conduct ourselves accordingly striving on a daily basis to be better human beings and then there are others who believe what they drive is more important than who they are.

People have boycotted and protested Google and Facebook.
Isn’t it better to just walk away ?
Once you have been deceived and misled what is the point in sticking around?
It really does play out like a made for TV movie about spousal abuse.
The abuser most likely the man batters the woman then pleads, begs and promises to never do it again.
A promise that is rarely kept.
This goes on and on and on until the worst that could happen does.
Google and Facebook keep going around and around with privacy organizations, the FTC, FCC, internet users etc.
Just like the woman who can’t be helped because she keeps letting the man back into her life.
If internet users keep going back to abusive sites, products, companies
You will be abused.
Then there is the custody battle.
When these two tribes go to war the battle will be over us.
It always was and it always will be.
So figure it out.
We are sure to hear promises, promises rarely kept.
Excuses, excuses that make no sense.
Just like the parent who only wants the child to spite the other parent.
Internet users are only wanted so the other can’t have us.
The child can’t get new parents but internet users can take their business elsewhere.
Me, I’ve already made up my mind. I’m running away to join the circus.
You’ve Been Stung
One of Facebook’s favorite tricks was when introducing a new app was to set the default setting to ‘opt-in’
They figured that many of their customers - would not notice – would not care – would not bother to opt-out – would not know how to opt-out
The polite setting is to offer the option to opt-in.
What Facebook was doing is called
A sting operation.
That’s it. No glossing over it. No white washing it. Absolutely no spokesperson giving some lame excuse or reason.
Unless they admit it was a sting operation they are lying.
Here is how it went.
There was a meeting with company officials who agreed to a company policy that included a sting operation aimed at their fellow man.
End of meeting.
There is an episode of the Twilight Zone titled To Serve Man. A group of aliens came to earth carrying a book titled 'To Serve Man' claiming they were on a goodwill mission to help man end war, disease, famine and some important stuff too. The aliens showed man how to grow food in the desert, Antartica even in some places man did not know existed. So with nothing to do but sit around and eat man became lazy and fat. The aliens began taking humans to their planet so they could see it and they did but they never came back to tell about it. Since they were always stuffing their mouth with food there was not much room for talking anyway. So other than people going missing everything was just fine. That is until one day when a code breaker discovered that the book 'To Serve Man' was a cookbook. I was 11 years old when I saw the episode and the story stuck with me.I am not crazy or anything, really I am not. Seriously not only can I see what is happening on the internet regarding the privacy of our lives I can sense it, feel it. It is one of those 'you just know it ' things which we all experience in our lives. I do not use bookmarks, remember passwords, auto complete, search suggestions. I handle cookies manually etc. To me all of these automated functions are like the aliens growing food to fatten up man to be eaten. I just can sense. I am 60 years old, male, I have Attention Deficit Disorder which I learned about a year ago. Since I quit using all of the automated tasks in the browsers I use my Attention Deficit Disorder has improved. I look back and it scares me how I struggled with the simplest of things. So that's about it. I see Google and Facebook with their hands out offering us an easier more interesting life. I feel we should not accept the offer.
